Water Water everywhere, will there be enough to drink???

Recent vernacular newspaper reports mentioned how in some flooded parts of east tamilnadu, villagers survived by drinking the flood waters.

The Tamilnadu Government had implemented the rain water harvesting policy rather intensely over a 2 year period and this recent rains should go really far in solving the water crisis of the state if only everyone had done a proper job of rainwater harvesting.

But, we will have to wait to know how far the groundwater has been recharged and how much of the rain water was thrown into the sea as we have been doing all these years.
