News Comment: HINDU editorial on Chikan Guinea

The HINDU often goes out of its way to promote its modernist image, even at the cost of sounding rather absurd at times, a recent editorial on Chikan guinea, pointed out by a friend is a case: Read in its editorial on the 23rd Sept

Practitioners of modern medicine are naturally concerned about
this trend. Can unproven alternatives be allowed to fill the vacuum caused by
modern medicine's honesty in acknowledging that, as yet, it has no preventive or
curative answers to chikungunya? A mass educational campaign is needed as are
special allopathic clinics to offer consultations and medication on a
symptomatic and supportive basis. The most credible promise of a cure for
chikungunya based on modern science has come from the French Government, which
recently announced that a drug would be available this year. France and the
United States have agreed to work together on a vaccine. In battling scourges in
this globalised age, humankind must necessarily rely on science and sound policy
responses based on science.

All over the state there are genuine cases of siddha, homeopaths and ayurveds working overtime to combat this disease while many practitioners of allopathic (modern) medicine are making pots of money out of helpless patients by prescribing to them pain killers and steroids, here is our favourite 'national newspaper' with no sense of shame!

even worse it goes as far as say that all other systems are not 'science', in which age do these guys live??

And the last straw, we need to wait for 1 year so that the French and Americans will develop a 'scientific' solution and salvage us!!
